Coronavirus.

Seems the UK is only counting virus deaths that happen in a hospital, and leaving those in care homes etc. off statistics. Not worrying at all.

I said at the start if you don't test you can play it down, as you are acting based on available data. Anyone that's worked in statistics knows the best way to get the picture you want is to control how the question is asked.

I have been to Tesco. They had a great queuing method, going in from the far side. It took me 15 minutes to get in but once I was in there was lots on the shelves, although still gaps of course. On aisles like the milk aisle they had people at either end stopping too many from going down. It was the most overwhelming experience though.

They were queuing at the Wildwood Co-Op. It took between 5 and 10 minutes to get in at around 10:00am this morning, and most things were on the shelves (the essentials anyway, it seemed).

Here's a thought. Has anyone has any nuisance calls since this Coronavirus thing kicked off? It's weeks since I heard from anyone trying to sell me cover for my washing machine, informing of the latest government initiative on loft insulation or telling me that my Amazon Prime service is about to be cut off.

Today I've made a new household rule.

From 7pm each night we are now a Corona virus free household, we will not watch, listen or talk about it. We will only talk about the good, nice or interesting things that have happened in the day.

I feel a bit swamped & overwelmed with hearing about it all day, it's nice to hear people's experiences and views, but I keep waking at 3am thinking about everything that's been said or done in the day before, and a lot of my friends & colleagues are having the same experience.

Sooo, if I or any of your friends don't reply instantly to messages or posts on any social media please be aware that they may just need a little break, like not drinking caffeine after 4pm :)

I'd be interested to know the reasons.
Hubby just had a speech on the laptop by Mayor of New York. He was saying he isn't going to buy more ventilators than they need, as he didn't want a stock pile afterwards and didn' t want to pay for them. (Said manufacturers had vastly upped their prices since the crisis)

Maybe that's what our government are thinking?????

I just don't get it :q::q: Am I being thick or what?

On the Teletext tonight there is an article on the lack of ventilators in the UK , they only have 8000 and needed 30,000

Then I see this...

https://www.itv.com/news/2020-03-29/uk-queues-up-for-lifesaving-ventilators-from-china/

Yet ....

' CITY-BASED manufacture Gtech has been told by the government to not produce much-needed ventilators less than a week after getting the go-ahead, the company’s chief executive has said.

“On Friday (March 20), the cabinet and medical group co-ordinating the project gave us the go ahead to prepare for production.

“However last evening (March 26) they advised that they did not want us to proceed at this time.

Nick Grey, chief executive of Gtech, said he had been advised by the government on Thursday (March 27) to not push forward with production of ventilators, despite answering a call for help to assist in producing more than 30,000 ventilators, less than two weeks ago.

“We will still complete and publish our design as there has been a lot of interest for it from around the world. '

Today I've taken up a new extreme sport - shopping in Tesco's. It's more scary than a ride at Alton Towers.

The shoppers are keeping a safe distance but the packers don't seem to give a hoot. They were chatting to one another close up and forcing customers to go within a few feet of them to get down the aisles.

I even heard one guy saying he'd been self isolating but was ok now apart from a slight sore throat and a cough!!!
