There is some doubt that it was written in 1869.
It was probably written by Kitty O’Meara from Wisconsin in 2020.

Makes sense, 1869 falls between the 1852-60 Third Cholera Epidemic and 1889-90 Russian Flu Epidemic so why would someone be writing about epidemics in 1869 (unless something specifically Canadian)

Meanwhile, somewhere out there...

... contingency planning occurs -
B3262049-0-AF3-41-E3-B3-F8-38-A152127642.jpg

- 6 containers, 40 bodies to a container, chilled until ready to fire up.

Please immediately 'unfriend', or whatever facebook calls it, anyone who is telling you that this isn't really happening. You genuinely do not need that sort of thing in your life.

Please - take a deep breath - contain yourself - this is really happening.

There is no easy way to tell you this, but you are about to lose someone you love.

You will not be able to see them while this is happening, which will be heartbreaking but necessary.

All the things you wish you had said, well there is a time and a place, and it is now.

Give them a phone if they don't have one, or a spare charger to KEEP IN THEIR POCKET AT ALL TIMES if they do, so you can at least talk to them.

It is always better to have and not need, than to need and not have. This is as true of people as it is of things.

My heart is already breaking, even though it has not yet come close.

Oppenheimer went on to quote the famous: 'Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds' from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. What I find interesting is that this translation has also been interpreted as: 'I am Time, destroyer of all worlds.'

It's not much different but I kind of like the second translation because it relates directly to a famous law of physics. And looking around, Time is the all conquering dimension.

And the older you get, the more strange Time seems.

It is indeed, it will be the destroyer of everything. Unless we get there first.

Good idea. I've just done another Candid order this morning.

With everything that's going on, I'm trying to keep my spirits up........and my wine........ and my beer..........

Can I ask where on the website you can order? I went to shop, but there didn't seem to be anything in there...

thanks

Food shortages can be partially solved by use of the natural environment (providing you've got a bow and arrow, or better still a good rifle.) However bear in mind there might be unforeseen circumstances ....

Tesco has been it's busiest it's been since lock down and some just for a 4 pack. What a real shame, they are putting others and themselves at risk for what? Are people getting itchy feet where they feel the shops are a great way to spend your time outdoors? I saw my neighbor go out and back twice this morning coming back with shopping bags both times. Another neighbor has family who dont live within her house in and out of her house and picking her up and going out. Maybe I'm too critical of them as it's none of my business but in the past week I have lost 2 family members to coronavirus and I really do not fancy losing any more :(

I'm Sitting on my patio at the moment. Can hear the people over the Back just had relatives turn up . Another with a new born baby, young child and a hubby who's been self isolating being diabetic, having a gathering in their garden. Just seen another neighbour, who is supposed to be in a fortnight's isolation, with illness in the house, climbing back over their 6' fence .

No wonder it's spreading like wildfire!:ohno:

And when out exercising...
