Rather like 'our own' steak tartare.

I had the pleasure of trying a real one of these recently, one of the teachers at the college is French and he prepared it how he considers is proper. Finely chopped fillet steak, capers, a little onion (shallot?), it was divine! If you are served raw minced beef you are in the McDonalds of the French food industry, or worse.

As for diet, I'm amazed I'm still alive. An alcoholic with a penchant for posh cider and a palate that appreciates very little under 200,00 scovilles. I make a mean chilli lasagne though!

You've started me thinking about rare steaks mmmm! And copious amounts of red wine mmmmm!

Where is the nearest Argentinian steak house ?

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
Mussels contain high levels of long chain fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These fats have many beneficial effects, including improving brain function and reducing inflammatory conditions, such as arthritis. Mussels are also a brilliant source of vitamins. Plus they give you a shot of important minerals, such as zinc, which helps build immunity. Mussels even contain levels of iron and folic acid to rival red meats.

Good grief, I've actually been eating something good for me. :lorks:

Will celebrate by buying some more in the morning.

I'm rather fond of cider. Is this ok ?

Sadly not Mr Fawlty

Howabout Captain Smiths instead ?.......

Again, Sorry Mr Fawlty...

Red wine is good for you in large quantities.

Red wine is 'ok' for you in small quantities ...

I find myself most dispirited by your advice. And that's before we even get onto the spirits.

I think a second opinion is in order.

I eat chocolate - contains milk - Calcium. Sugar - energy.
I walk most places, the only time you will see me run, is if i'm being chased by someone, or a spider.
Don't touch wine of any colour, prefer a pint of lager or cider. Cider- apples, vitamin c.
Am I happy with my body? No, but at the same time, doing sumat to alter it requires effort on my part, and tbh, at the mo I cba.
Finally, I refuse to go out of this world worrying about the last calorie that went down my bone chute.

I heard that another name for sugar is "white death."

However I also heard that saccharin is even worse.

What is your best advice for type 2 diabetes when choosing soft drinks?
