Do I want to download offline caching??

ive tried to open an ap and it's asking if I want offline caching... I have absolutely no idea what this means. Could someone explain it in idiots terms and advice me as to whether I should or not please?

It would very much depend on the app

Offline caching is where the app will store data on your device so you can access and use it when you aren't connected to the internet - the most common use is in email, where the email app will download copies of all your email and store it on your device so you can still read them even if you don't have an internet connection (you just won't be able to send or receive new ones until you have a connection again)

If it's an app such as music or video related, then offline caching would allow you to play what's been cached while not online. In this case though, bear in mind that caching uses memory on the device - so that can cause problems especially on cheaper phones that don't have much memory built in.

Aww, ok, thankyou everyone. I opted no simply because it was just for an art gallery and I don't think I would ever be that desperate to read or look up info offline.
