Do some listening for me....

How do I edit this?
I've been working and reworking some stuff for my new solo demo and now I'm torn between two versions of the same song. If anyone could be kind enough to have a listen and fill in the survey that would be extremely helpful.

Oh and please do share your thoughts here too!

I can't decide either.

I think i prefer version 2 - the hand claps are a good addition, it conjures up happy-clappy-god-fearing-folk to me, which adds a level of irony that i like.

I like the harmonica on the first one, and it sounds a bit more 'dirty' - i mean that in a good way, and cannot at present think of a better word.

I shall ruminate further...

Thanks for listening :)

If it helps your decision there's nothing to stop me adding harmonica to the second version...

After further listening i am still erring toward version 2 - i think it benefits from being a bit pared down, so would fit well in a set sandwiched between more harmonica-laden tracks.

Have you given any thought to how you are to clap your hands whilst playing gee-tar though...

I'm not sure whether this should actually count for anything in the final analysis, but if you look at the 'soundcloud' 'picture' of the two versions, version 1 looks like a cock, version 2 looks like a cock in the throes of spunking (where is Mark Heenan when you need him?) so maybe it is a sign.

I would be interested to hear that - the more i listen the more i think it is really just the gee-tar from version 2 that i prefer (still liking the addition of the percussion, but am an 'all we need is a drummer' kind of personage), perhaps with harp used sparingly with the slide at the fin?

On the whole it's probably better not to doubt in the first place.
