Now refusing to supply the recordings, I'm here this time listening to this end of the call, they say the ombudsman can't demand it. They have been given the case number and asked to respond, they hung up.

Seriously dodgy bastards, trip to Blackpool may be in order after all. Turns out the guy who took the cancellation that allegedly wasn't authorised to is another director, off to get his details now.

Hi mate just came across this on a search tonight I myself am having problems with these people they phoned me at in July and said they could save me money spoke to the salesman and he said it would be unlimited broadband etc they then put me on contract and asked for direct debit details which I didn't give them said wife had the card and they said they would send details.
Never heard or received after so thought no more of it until was out at the beginning of August and got an email from bt saying sorry to see you go so I contacted them and they gave me Atlas details phoned them they said I was in a contract with them and if I wanted out I would have to pay 36 months fees. I told them I never received any information and they said they emailed me and posted me a welcome pack (this I received by email 2 days later although they did backdate it to the 24 July. Still to this day have not received a contract. Phoned numerous times but was told in basic I was stuck with them also told them is didn't have internet and they told me my bt router would not work (although salesman assured me it would and I wouldn't have to change anything) and they would give me Upton £30 to purchase a new one (this cost me £50 they said they would refund the £30 of my first bill). Two day later I was emailed a quarterly bill of 3 months fees £108 which I paid. Yesterday I received a bill for a months service of £156 of which £95 plus vat was excess internet charge. I phone them and was told they would sort it out but I heard nothing so emailed today and was told that they have listened to the original phone conversation and I was never told it was unlimited.
After that I cancelled my direct debit straight away but am siting here stressed right out and not knowing what to do.
Sorry if this is so long but just wanted to let you know your not the only one and if you have any ideas.
If I was close to Blackpool I would have visited them already but I'm all the way down in Cornwall.
Will be following this with great interest

Will comment fully when I have time, but you need to get the recordings of the phone calls. They will refuse, you need to contact the ombudsman for a case reference then call them back with that. They'll probably still refuse. They may offer to let you listen but not offer a recording, but they have to. You may have to submit it in writing, they completely ignore emails.

As I said earlier they are a reseller for gteq, based not far from here. Be sure to complain to them too, although I suspect they are part of it tbh.

FFS, she got to work to find another letter from talk talk informing her atlas has blocked the transfer, so it all starts again.

Interestingly an item I want on ebay just came up, collection only and the same town the director lives in. Its like someone is trying to tell me something.

Very tempting mate!

Just to add information for Wrighty38 (and any other poor bastard they sucker in), they said they had listened to the call themselves and said she was in a contract. They offered to let my OH listen to the call over the phone, but then said the call would have to be retrieved from the archive and that takes a long time. This despite her allegedly listening to the call herself that day, so essentially she's full of shit. That was the one that calls herself Lisa by the way, she's hung up on my OH twice now when she's asked questions she can't answer.

In case its of use this is gteq, the people who do all the actual connections etc. Never trust a company that uses videos instead of text, makes it harder to find the information you require.

That's exactly what they said to me this morning before she hung up on me although they did offer me to upgrade my package when I asked for a letter of deadlock she said they didn't do that. Have spoke to the ombudsman and have got a ref no and sent a letter to the 2 addresses I have. Also emailed then to say I am perpared to pay for my calls but not for anything else on the bill as I will be seeking professional advice on it. Ombudsman started case but told me to write a letter and we can move forward from there on the 011014. Have also signed back up with BT which should be in place by the 021014 so we will see how that works out with that.

On the note of the recording Lisa told me this morning that the salesman part of the original recording is not it only the sales to which I said so all the things I was told can't be proved very handy

What did the ombudsman say about them blocking you from reconnecting to talk talk as I mentioned it and they said to tell your new provider not to let anyone swap your contract unless they speak to you.(I'm expecting all these problems to come my way as everything looks like a carbon copy)

Enjoying a drop of red.
Sounds like the two of you ought to take this to Watchdog and see if they fancy doing some investigating.

Yeah, we're at the letter stage too. They will ignore it of course, we know that, but it gives more ammunition for the courts if you can prove it was sent.

Are you a residential customer or a business? Lisa told us the same stuff, the ombudsman said its bollocks. After all, if they don't have a recording of the original call they can't prove what contract ever existed in the first place either. Its all bullshit though, Lisa is just a lying bitch that says whatever she thinks will get you off the phone. When that fails she hangs up herself.

We did that, but Atlas just re-issue a transfer every few days and the block only blocks the first one. Its insane that there is no way around this, but talktalk said their hands are tied as its openreach that do it.

Sounds like the two of you ought to take this to Watchdog and see if they fancy doing some investigating.

You know I forgot they existed! Off to have a look.

I once (no twice) defeated EE at CISAS and EE spent lots of money on legal representation so if I can beat them (ok it was the collective minds of many people on a forum too) then you should easily be able to kick their arses. Happy to help you and anyone else going through CISAS...

Oh and when I beat EE I got £100 compensation plus a fully backdated refund so you should easily be able to get compensation for all of this hassle.
