Dodgy telecoms company (Atlas Business Services)

Indeed. Wonder if that bloke selling gear actually scarpered or is in a shallow grave somewhere? Would make an ideal cover story.

She's back with talk talk! Took long enough but she's back, Atlas haven't had a penny and the ombudsman is still following it up. Still possibly going after them for costs incurred, depends on the costs to us from solicitors etc. TBH we didn't spend much but its not the point, I'd like to inconvenience David Plum personally. May go round and cut his phone line next time I'm up that way, see how he likes it.

No, but emptying a can of sardines/cat food/whatever into the cabin heater inlet can be quite amusing.

A bead of expanding foam in the panel gaps around doors, boot lids etc. would be excellent, too.

Unfortunately I've got the same problem with Atlas Telecom (Atlas Business Services). They transferred my telephone, but not my broadband (my good fortune) in May and I've been in dispute with them ever since. On 5 occasions I've tried to transfer my telephone back to BT, but it's been cancelled by Atlas Telecom (Atlas Business Services) each time. I have to keep cancelling the direct debit as they continually try to re-install it - for an amount much larger than initially agreed. They refuse to acknowledge my letter of complaint and I even had a call yesterday from one of their account monkeys, pretending to be a bailiff - until I pointed out that I recognised his voice from earlier calls. What a bunch of scammers. They are aggressive, threatening and arrogant on the phone - and probably bully a lot of people into paying them.

However, with the ombudsman receiving a lot of complaints, hopefully they won't last long. Surprisingly, this is the only website found by Google when I searched for complaints against Atlas Business Services (Atlas Telecom). Amazing, considering how distressful many people's experiences will have been when dealing with Atlas Telecom (Atlas Business Services).

Posting complaints about Atlas Telecom (Atlas Business Services) on various forums by members of this forum would help. Always use the full name when referring to Atlas Telecom (Atlas Business Services) as this helps with google searches on the company - especially when used repeatedly in the same post. As pointed out by a colleague, when searching on Google for negative comments on companies, he always types the company name and then "Shit" - so prospective customers of Atlas Business Services Shit should take heed.

My main reason for posting this thread was because I too was amazed nobody else had a problem with them, anyone this unprofessional must have a bad reputation. Of course Atlas Business Services is merely a trading name, the real company is called Reseller UK ltd. They have several trading names, I can only assume they cancel each after a bit of bad press and start another but all under reseller uk and all with the same phone number for a call center operating outside of Blackpool. Some of the alleged companies have a London address but the same phone number as the call centre, so guessing these are just fake offices where they forward your mail etc. for a small fee.

E.G. better-rates.co.uk uses this address:
34 New House
67/68 Hatton Garden
London
EC1N 8JY

But that appears to be this building:
http://propertylink.estatesgazette.com/property-details/5522367-67-68-hatton-garden-london-ec1n-8jy

So at only 344 square feet it somehow feels justified to also need the address 34 New House, obviously they just put anything in front and use it to retarget the mail. The fact that the phone numbers are the same proves they aren't there. The address used by Atlas certainly exists:

Beckett House
Sovereign Court
Wyrefields
Poulton Business Park
Poulton Le Fylde
Lancashire
FY6 8JX

I can't tell that it is actually them inside without a visit, but they did advertise at the Blackpool job centre for telesales people. Here is an advert for another of their companies called sim-only.ltd.uk:

May I suggest you all, post all of this up on the Consumer Action Group website? They deal with a lot of this sort of thing and it will help get the message out.

And they will continue to cancel, waiting until near the end of the 2 week order period until they do so - as they have done with me on 5 occasions. BT have no power to force the order through. I have an appointment with a solicitor tomorrow - I've discussed the problem with her over the phone and Atlas Business Services are in breach of contract on at least 3 points. It would appear that the only way to free yourself from Atlas Business Services is the legal route - as Tek-Monkey has demonstrated.

Good luck with the solicitor, I suspect as soon as they realise you aren't backing down they'll walk away. It may be worth a chat about recouping costs, should be an open and shut case TBH. Could always get a no win no fee person to chase it for you, they are in clear breach of numerous things!

Yup, they were rather nasty about it too. They are hoping you'll pay up because you'll lose business because of this, and they will make sure you lose your number too because they are twats. Call the ombudsman and get this added to your case, then call back Atlas requesting the recording of the call they just made to you to be added to the list of things requested by the ombudsman. Record this call yourself if at all possible (install a call recorder on your mobile), you have to let them know you are recording the call though. Just because David Plum is a corrupt arsehole doesn't mean you need to stoop to his level nor that of his 'associates'.

Yet.
