This morning, I went to the Dorothy Clive Garden at Willoughbridge, just this side of Woore.

Timed it quite well - it was just starting to rain as we left.

If the weather is nice then I shall go this weekend.
It's £7:50 for normal people - well worth it.

The café is quite good, if rather slow and disorganised - the toasties are worth waiting for.

The rhododendrons and azaleas are its Big Thing, so this is a good time, they will start to go off shortly. Some of the very early ones already have, but it's still good. I last went in 1983, and it's been extended a bit since then.

If you do go, then please read the label on this tree...
...it's right up at the back and I failed to see the label until now, having spent some time trying to work out what it was...

I love Rhododendrons and Azealeas.
Another thing on my "to do" list is to go to Portmerion to see the same things.

The Rs & As at Dotty's place are as good as you'll ever see.

Portmerion is on my list, too - as a Prisoner fan, as well as it just being a 'nice place'.

I think Biddulph Grange may be the next bag - I'm told that's a Dahlia Place, so August may be the time..?

Good photos, lovely to see the spring colours.
Have you been to Powys Castle? Excellent gardens noted for their yew hedges. The castle and museums are well worth the trip too.

As the weather was nice yesterday I took myself off with the dog to The Dorothy Clive garden.
What a lovely gem of a place.
The other half is in America so he didn't come with me but I will certainly go again and take him.

I found the stag quite easily but wandered round and round and round looking for the waterfall until I realised that what was once a waterfall was no more.

I forgot to look at the sign on the tree, what did it say @Gramaisc ?

The rhodedandrons and azaleas were lovely , another week or so and the laburnum arch will be in full bloom.
