Dovedale swimming

With the forecast looking good this weekend, we are off to try to find a swimming spot at Dovedale.
I have never been, and its been years since my OH has been and before his wild swimming days.
The Environment Agency water quality reports for Dovedale are very good, and we think we are missing out on this local spot.

Any hints on where to head to? - access is the major issue - I have a shoulder issue, so cant clamber too much.
A bit deeper water and lusher surroundings than Essex Bridge would be nice.

(by deeper, anything deeper thant 4 foot is swimmable in my view.)

We have met a number of swimmers who have swum at Chatsworth and say its very good, and pretty much widely accepted.

We have found a lovely spot on the Dove - somewhere near Marston if I recall.
Water is damn cold, but lovely.
Great for a dip, but if its swim training you are after there probably isnt a long enough stretch.
Also as a bonus, there is a nice pub just further into the village that does a good beer and buttie!

We are off to Hatchmere in Cheshire on Sunday for a dip in the lake - its quite a warm one - a positively balmy 13 or 14 degrees at the mo I believe!!
