I've used Downings lots of times and not had a problem. Normally ring them up when its full and its collected either that day or the next. Even rang them on the day and they've replaced a full skip with an empty one.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Typing all in capital letters doesn't get your point across any better, it just makes you look like you don't know how to use a keyboard correctly.

Anyway, I always thought that when a skip was full, you had to ring the company to ask them to empty it. After all they don't know unless you tell them.

We've used them on a couple of occasions when we were doing some house & garden renovations. They were cost effective and their service was excellent - skips arrived when they said they would and were taken away within a few hours of us asking them to collect them once they were full. Certainly no complaints from me!

I got Downings to collect one of those Hippo skip bag efforts. They were cheaper than booking Hippo and it got collected when they said, no probs at all.

I shall be needing a skip in the near future, and TBH this thread if anything has convinced me to try Downings!

I notice the targeted ad at the bottom is for hippo bags though....

Speak as you find. We had a skip from them over the Easter bank hols and had great service.
It was collected the same day as we phoned them without any issue.
Very good and painless service ,one phone call to order one phone call to collect.
Would very much recommend.

Enjoying a drop of red.
I've used them three times in total, the last time being a couple of weeks ago. Rang them at 5pm to let them know they could collect the skip and it had gone by 9am the next day. Prices have always been competitive and service has always been fine.

No comment on skips but we've had issues with downings bin provision and collection. They took weeks to deliver the bin itself then emptying wasn't as regular as we had asked for/needed. We complained, complained again and then threatened to leave and then they sorted themselves out. No issues since.

I accuse you of supporting the dutch, verrry strange! :britain:

Sir George Downing, (born 1623, Dublin, Ire.—died July 1684, Cambridgeshire, Eng.), English diplomat and financial administrator who helped precipitate two wars with the Dutch and who instituted major reforms in public finance. Downing Street, London, where the residence of the British prime minister is located, is named for him.

:stafford:

Well it makes as much sense as the poster!

I use Downings at The Moat House; Swan; Dog and Doublet and Bear superb service and always meet our expectations, furthermore they help us with our quest to sent 0% of our waste to landfill.

They offer a full segregated waste collection service, so for us they separately collect glass, plastics, cardboard, paper and food waste - end of my advert for them ( cheque to the normal address Mr D please)

So all said very pleased
