Driving to New cross or get the train?

Next week wednesday to friday I have to do a induction at new cross hospital, and the hours will be 9-5. I normally work shifts so avoid rush hour, and i'm wondering if anyone has experience of how bad the traffic will be at this time? or what would be the best route to take!

I am considering just giving up attempting to drive and just getting public transport. If the drive will be terrible I may decide just to do this. What do people recommend?

what would be the best route to take!

I normally use this route, or slight variations thereof. It's never too bad, although you do have to be aware of the varying speed limits. I've never really done it at peak times, though.

Parking can be a bit mad, as well - are you sorted for that aspect?

Can I butt in here? As a local I can advise a slightly faster, bit less traffic way. Turn left off the Cannock Rd down D'Eyncourt rd. Then right onto Prestwood rd and then 3rd left into the hospital via the rear entrance. Or turn left off Cannock rd down Mill lane, right onto Prestwood, then 4th left onto the hospital.

I think terrible is comparative..

Go very early - take a bowl of cornflakes and a copy of June and Schoolfriend and relax in the car park with the sounds of Dingle FM

The journey will be easier if the schools are still off - When they return so doth the stress

Alternatively take the train and enjoy the scenic splender of Heeftarn as you glide through the avenues and gulleys glancing to your right to try and locate Goldie's ex gaff ( named because of his hair not his teef ) pass the closed Victorian baths and arrive at your destination assured that your car is safe at om

Well thanks for the advise, so if I do drive the best thing will be to set off early and sit in my car when I get their, will beat a traffic jam. But its the return journey at 5pm that is worrying me, and making me wonder weather to just get the train and bus. I was hoping it may be a journey someone else has to make and could advise if the traffic will be hellish or not and say if its just worth even trying!
