Electric cars.

It’s possible the electric car idea foundered because there’s evidence the Dyson team may have been a little ‘blinkered’ when designing the concept vehicle (?)

I suspect it would have sucked, anyway.

Ah, I recall the story of some RAF bigwigs watching an early flight by the jet-powered Gloster Whittle, and one asking how it managed without a propeller.

"It's simple, Old Chap, It just sucks itself along, like a Hoover."

Dyson misreads the general mood?

Makes much of himself when delivering little?

Is a poster boy for 'leave'?

Makes an arse of himself and discredits the cause?

Leaves nothing but questions?

Could be worse, if they were rapid charge cables people would break their shins on them… damn things are solid as a rock

No it really couldn't. Whoever agreed and proposed this should be taken out and publicly flayed, pour encourager les autres.

We need smart thinking to get the UK ready for 2030 not fuckmuppetry.
Imagine how many people were involved in all the stages to get to that - then just give them more of your money and shut up.

Agreed. It only serves to harm the movement to EVs. “Look how impractical they are!” when someone pointing out that all it needed was moving a bit closer to the road

On another EV related note, Ecotricity need to quit monopolising the motorways. What good is two chargers on the Toll, when you can only use one car on each despite two cables on both… and only one of them even has a Chademo, and then breaks down? Would have completely loved me if I hadn’t been able to trundle you Cannock and charge courtesy of Pritchard’s little development there. Need to get shot of this Leaf…

May sound a daft question , but got no idea how these things work ( getting ready for if I live long enough for all cars to be electric...)

Can you just plug into a normal socket at home , or do you have to have a special charging point installed on your house ?

I understand that you can charge an EV from a normal socket however, it takes forever. Getting a plug-in charging point fitted to the house is much quicker.

I have recently ordered a Volvo hybrid for my new company car. Received an updated delivery date from the lease company yesterday, it has moved from January to March 2022!. At least Volvo have an offer on at the moment where they will get a charging point fitted to your house for free (which will save me around £500). I will be getting the charging point 6 months before the car!
