wooohoo! my first point
unfortunately, i am forever in debt to mrs louby lou for that one....so i sent it to everyone who i thought would like- it shows what good taste we all have
well the move- hmmmm, was okish- i can laugh about it now, but at the time think hysterical bawling and copious amounts of swearing.
1:30 picked up keys
2:00 met man with a van and packed the van up
3:00 finished unpacking and settled in to survey my new abode and have a well deserved cig
4:00 put heating on and proceeded to unpack the kitchen
5:00 thought 'why can i hear the shower?' and pelted up the stairs to find the spare room covered in water and the radiator pissing water everywhere.....got towels and tried to mop up and move ALL the boxes i had put in there because i wasnt decorating it (
)
then for the next half hour frantically running round the house on the phone trying to turn of the water, boiler, calll a plumber, phone work to tell them i was likely to be late and generally swear a lot.......
5:30 heard an ominous sploosh noise coming from the dining room
5:30:02 saw water pissing out of the light fitting in the dining room, collecting in the lamp shade and periodically tipping out all over the floor.
6:10 plumber arrives...very nice chap, very helpful
7:40 plumber departs, radiator removed and in back garden, pipes sealed off, radiators bled, and me 180 quid lighter (had to charge for 2 hours!!!!!)
8:30 get to work
11:30 decide the only way to cope with the whole situation is to go round to a mates and get thoroughly spannered
7:45 get first tram home from mates house (avec company
)
12:00 wake up and think 'feck this' and go back to sleep (quite literally)
15:00 get phone call from mate 'are you decorating today?'....'urm, no, i cant be arsed, but im a bit busy at the mo'
17.30 decide i really have to get out of bed coz i need to go to work again, and should really say goodbye to the unexpected company (who served more of a purpose than they could ever imagine
)
so, that was my 1st 24hrs in my new house- denial, dampness, expense and tears.
i thought things were gonna get better until the damp course men turned up last thursday to treat the timbers in the cellar and discovered i have a veritable stream running through it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so the fishing permit is gonna be sent off today to see if i cant earn a few pennies to pay for a new radiator!
