Ever met anyone famous unexpectedly and in an unusual location!?!

Jimbob met Liz McColgan at the the Rugby club fireworks .

So, I was wondering can anyone beat this? I mean has anyone else met such a big celebrity/celebrities in such an unsual set of circumstances?

I'll start with my simply amazing tale of the time i met the entire Newcastle United squad at the arrivals lounge of Birmingham airport after returning (in a slightly sorry state) from Amsterdam for my 21st birthday.

I did manage to compose myself in time to kiss the feet of Sir Bobby and Alan Shearer himself.

:)

I've thrown down the gauntlet. Surely noone is gonna better this chance encounter?

I'm going to cheat here, because I used to work in quite an expensive shop in Kensington, which has now gone nationwide, but at the time was the only one in England, so loads of celebs used to come in. Not very unusual, but I shall elaborate anyway.

I was attending the fitting rooms - ahem - when Will Young was trying on some trousers, and he told me to cheer up. Nice bloke actually.

I picked out a pair of jeans for 'Little Trev' Nelson.

Bryan Adams came in and asked me for some jackets his friend had put on hold.

Mark out of Westlife asked me whether some trousers were "browen er black".

Fin out of Hollyoaks came in to meet his friend and looked a bit lost so I axed him if he was alright.

I said a brief hello to Martin Freeman while he was waiting at the tills.

Others who I didn't really meet, but who I saw in there include Jennifer Love Hewitt, Anthony Worrall Thompson, Antoine de Caunes, Noel Gallagher and Emma Forbes. Not to mention picking out a jacket - in which Danni Minogue was photographed after leaving Justin Timberlake's hotel after the Brits a day or two later - for JT. He wasn't there though - he sent one of his slaves out to get it.

Pete Postlethwaite! Brilliant.

Harking back to your earlier post, I also met Bobby Robson. I used to go to football training at Lilleshall back in the day, and the England schoolboys were on the pitch before us one night. Who should be there checking out the future stars of international football but the then England manager, Sir Robert of Robson.

We all lined up along the edge of the pitch and he shook all of our hands in turn as he walked back to his car. Lovely man.

It helps if you name the people you meet Miss T. It adds to the intrigue! I take it you mean Trigger?

Excellent! His is indeed a lovely man. A true gentlemen of the game. I was pretty nervous (or something else maybe) when i met him at the Airport and i remember when i asked him to sign my ticket i forgot to say please which he picked me up on! See, a man of true manners and discipline. I have to say the reprimand felt good coming from SBR. I hope he's feeling better soon. :)

I've also seen loads of celebs, without actually meeting them. I think I've got some special celeb spotting powers because whenever I'm with anyone else and spot one they never do. It's weird because I hate 'celeb culture'. The list includes:

Dermot O'Leary, Leslie Joseph, Frank Skinner, Kim and Aggie, Steve Jones, Miquita Oliver (I work near Channel 4, which helps), Simon Amstell, Armando Ianucci, the "did she just shake her Tic Tacs at me?" bloke, Jayne Middlemiss, Rob Rouse, Mark Heap, Sara Cox, Fat Keith and Lee out of 'The Office', Edith Bowman, Ross Kemp, Keith Curle, Kathy Lloyd (several times - she owns a luggage shop near work), Teresa May (the Page 3 girl, not the politican. I actually sat opposite her for the whole journey on the train to London the day I moved down here - huge boobs, tiny feet), Douglas Hurd, Dave Prowse (in Green Cross Code Man guise), Tim Vincent, Christopher Biggins, Rula Lenska, John Pickard (some of these as a result of Stafford Shakespeare/panto appearances), Lewis out of Hollyoaks, the ginger bloke out of 'Spoons' and loads more equally pointless spots.

i have also met boycie (i think that is who miss t is refering to). it was during euro 2000 and he was watching the england game in the firkin. i sideled up to him and expected him to be funny, but im sure he was just a bit sick of people sidling up to him and expecting him to be funny. he was actually quite posh, and didnt have an east end accent for some reason.

also saw (as voted on this forum) staffords greatest export, dave gorman. i was outside hsbc whilst the missus was getting some cash out on new years eve day. i think i was staring at him until i said hello, and he smiled at me and said alright. i felt a bit special cos no one else noticed him. he was wearing a hat.

also on nye about 10 years ago, i was going to get some tabs from the now gone vicky wines on mill st. i opened the door for the chap on his way out, and it was mark off eastenders. he said 'thanks very much! happy new year' and went on his way.

also in the same day, said hello to kim wilde and pete beale in covent garden. well, we were drunk and a childrasputin shouted their names really loudly.

also literally bumped into jackie degg at euston, to the extent that i dislodged her hat. she was one of the smallest, but most perfectly formed human beings ive ever seen in the flesh. and, what flesh it was.

jimbob - arnet you forgetting you met my so called doppleganger n all?
