Its guesswork

The Swan at Forton is food led too

Doxey is dry, Seighford curried, Derrington hanging on, Haughton fully staffed

Got a couple of interviews lined up for rest of the week! Still not heard from the Cleaver, have forwarded my CV, so hoping I hear from him as that place sounds like what I'm looking for, and is more local than some of the places I'm interviewing! I'll keep you updated! :)

Good luck ole chap
Indeed! Best of luck, kaleidoscope75; please let us know how you get on. You never know, if you get a job somewhere we might organise a Forum outing to come and sample the fruit of your labour. ;)

Interview today seemed a bit of a waste of time :( only wanted a part time pastry chef paying minimum wage :( hoping for better luck tomorrow!

Drove past the Cleaver this afternoon to have a nosey, they were clearing all the foliage outside and a sign up saying opening end of June. Still waiting to hear back, hopefully soon. :)

Well let's just say the reviews of this place online leaves a lot to be desired in terms of the food, the service and even basic food hygiene. :chef:

Yeah I may do that John. Got an interview tomorrow at a snip and tippery ('ping' food) :urgh: but at least it would be a wage until I find something more ideal...

Hi there,

lovely though Stafford is, I think you can do better - take a look at my website www.antipodastavern.com and if you think you would like to work here instead let me know.

we work with fresh, local produce (we do have a microwave, but mostly for heating clients baby food), do 200-250 covers in summer and live on the beach.

I am looking for someone capable enough to lead a newly formed brigade for our next venture. wages are above average for the area, opportunities for growth are exceptional.

Sounds like an amazing opportunity however as much as I would love to relocate to Spain unfortunately I couldn't. :soz: If I was still a single man or if my better half had no family commitments, she and I would be buying our plane tickets! However I have my commitments here to take into account :(

Hi there,
Hi antipodas, welcome to Stafford Forum. :)

I'm intrigued as to what brought you to our little corner of the Internet! Must be nice for kaleidoscope75 as well, to know that he is being head-hunted. ;)

Initially I thought your post was spam, but after a little digging I can see that isn't the case, so I assume it's a genuine offer of help. As I say, intrigued as to what prompted it, though! Do you have a Stafford connection? :)

It is indeed very nice! Especially since I've had another pointless interview today.:grr: The 'snip and tip' kitchen/restaurant manager took one look at my CV and told me the position was unsuitable as I am too experienced, they are ideally looking for a college graduate to pay peanuts to. Very frustrating!

Back to the drawing board then! Hoping to pop up to the Cleaver tomorrow, find out if they are still looking for a chef, had no word back yet (being a little impatient!)

Have applied for everything I can find!!! :(
