There will be a 'FAmily Fun Cycle Day' on Sunday 16 November from 10am - 2pm. There will be rides to follow, a cycle treasure hunt, a chance to get Dr. Bike to give your bicycle a safety check, bike displays, lots of info and much more. It will all be happening at teh Back-2-Bikes unit on Greyfriers buiness estate (round the side of MFI) so come along if you fancy a short ride, are looking for the right type of bike for yourself or your family or have any interest in cycling at all!

I'm up for this although I don't have a family (well not one who will ride) or a bike, so if anyone can lend me a half decent bike for the day I'll go along. I used to do a whole lot of riding (road / XC / downhill) but haven't done it in years. Might have a look at where the technology is now and may even look at purchasing a bike, although with the cold weather thats pretty unlikely to happen :D

HUKD has a Diamond Back for £109...

Ok for that price its going to be a cheap and cheerful but decent brand and not too expensive.

I was part of the team that set it up originally but it is now independent of us. I still pop in now and again and we continue to support and promote their work. The place is doing really well and as well as managing to become financially secure and finding new storage space, as an intermediate workspace, they have helped 12 people on into full employment too.

Opening times are 9-5 Mon - Fri (except Thur) and 10 - 3 Saturday.

Hmmm! I don't know. If they have one knocking around then something could be 'arranged' I'm sure but there is a mass of legislation around child carriers/ prams and the like to do with safety etc. - which is why charity shops usually don't sell them.
