You can keep them in just about anything, as long as it can be closed after dark (fox safety), and you feed them layers pellets. A sack is £6.60 locally and lasts a good while if only keeping a few. I use a sack a week but I have 30 odd hens!tek-monkey said:Which is tastiest? Or are they just for laying
On a serious note, what do you keep them in, and do they lay one egg a day usually? And what do you feed them and how much does it cost? Main issue I have is the local fox, seen him a few times near my garage.
Nothing spare, but can direct you to a source of mini coop with run (suits 2 or 3 hens) for £65, or there's a really nice 8 hen setup on www.staffordads.co.uk for £100.tek-monkey said:You got any cage/run type things for sale if you're downsizing? Or are all yours together? Just an idea at present, would need to run it by my flatmates anyway!
Are they OK outside in the winter? Prob a silly question, just wouldn't want to wake up to some froxen chicks!
The obvious answer is, of course, wmrcomputers said:Just been out to collect some more eggs, and had a lovely surprise off 2 of my hens.
Problem is the egg boxes won't shut!
