There's a Farmfoods in Rugeley too.
Nice lol i go spazda myself - perhaps when they (farmfoods rugeley)have sale you should post on here......mind you i dont think its something id like to watch again to be honest! the same happened when the deli closed (so i read on here)

I think that could be the answer to stafford town woes........just open loads of half price sale shops, town would be booming lol.

I forgot all about it closing until I saw people waiting outside. The queue had gone down to about 10 when I walked past about 2pm so I decided to join on the end to have a look what was on offer. There were only about 6 freezers left in the store at that time but I did manage to get a few bargains on a couple of items that I normally buy from there. (Resisted the temptation to buy bags full of stuff that I wouldn't normally have bought- wouldn't have been money saved then!)

What did puzzle me was the 'wet paint' signs in the window and the walls outside had been painted in white paint. :?:

I wonder how many people went home with white sleeves or backs after leaning on it whilst queuing :haw:

Exactly why buy more than you need! perhaps they still have rationing stuck in heads lol. I didnt see the paint signs (strange if they closing. I walked past at 9am - the queue was down to the bap shop!

My freezer is full, and its a big freezer! I dont waste food, I hate throwing things away and tbh it only happens once or twice a year. Doesnt mean stocking up on frozen food is bad though? Fresh food sure, but buying in the basics you'd use anyway for half the price seems a good plan to me.

Not that I went in, I hate queues!

Never been in but think the name of the shop is really funny and love it when people say I got this from "Bon Marche" which means cheap in French. LOL
Ive never been in either, i was mearly pointing out that despite shops bailing out , news is one is staying (more fool them). The only shops worthy of going in are boots, pecadillos, wh smith gamestation, hmv
Funny people must use it if its "reopening" same as the poundshop is always full - along with the sausage roll/food shops and oh my what a lot of charity shops stafford has LOL! They been around for years so im told, must be doin roaring trade LOL

just seemed strange to see them with at least 6 rissotto pizzas and 4 huge (12 portion) gatuex not to mention the joints (family size)
I suppose your right pehaps a lot of people thaw out there fresh joints, cook an then put it in fridge for a couple of weeks till its used same with the gataux unthaw 12 portions = 12 days - unless they eat all at once ( which yep looking around perhaps they do lol)

i think more people living in town is a wicked idea - it means more footfall in town centre, and would be nice to see people about in the early mornings and late evenings. and if you think about it, theres too many shops and not enough housing. x

I have been endorsing town centre living for a while. You cannot fight culture and if people no longer wish to shop in the town centre you have to work with it. If more people did live ther then I think there would be a reimergence of small shops such as butchers, laundrettes ect. I own a propery in the town centre and have asked for change of use from commercial to domestic and the councils objections are ammenities such as parking...I do not need parking as everthing is on the door step and the public transport is to hand. In my opinion town centre living is the way forward.

Never went in the old shop, can't see myself going in the new one either.

Noticed Franklin_Delano_Roosevelt posted on this thread. He (I assume) has not been seen on the forum since September 2013 which is a shame. Anyone know why?

It doesn't hold much interest for me either, I was dragged up on cremated 70's frozen convenience food & can't see the appeal. Husband, however, is another matter...he seems to find any frozen potato or pizza product irresistible & I dread him saying he's going to cook tea as I know it'll be something frozen & processed from Iceland. God (or the flying spaghetti monster) help me when he finds out Farmfoods just down the road....
