When I walked past the top of Crooked Bridge Road yesterday it appeared there had been a fire at Not Just Curtains. Anyone know any details?

That made me feel sad, my first job was at that building in 1960 when it was called Newco and they did upholstery on the top floor and french polishing and joinery below, I used to skive outside that door at the back.

basil

don't mention the blinds
70s it was owned by Harry Horton, his son John ran Newco whilst dad looked after the painting and decorating business......

There was an upholstery shop by the Waggon and Horses in the 80s with a similar, if not identical name. Was it an off-shoot? I had a few bits and pieces off of them.
