Fireworks.....

BBC

You knows it
.... obviously rule. What is everyone doing in celebration of this pyrotechnicolour weekend?

I see the Rugby club are doing their usual display. This was good last year but i remember it was a case of quality over quantity. i.e it didn't last long. I may well just go and buy a few barrage's of my own and light up the skies of the Quadrant

I met Liz McColgan at the Rugby Club bonfire once. She was in Stafford for treatment at that sports injury clinic on the Newport Road. Hammered she was.

I miss Shugborough on Bonfire Night. All I've got to look forward to are my drunk housemates attempting to fire rockets and chavs firing them through our windows. Ahhh cheap student housing.

Oh and something else, BBC, what is this Quadrant you keep mentioning? Is it your own name of an area or am I missing vital information about Stafford's various ghettos?

'The Quadrant' - noun quad‧rant [kwod-ruhnt] - refers to a section of Castletown which goes from The Castle Tavern, along Doxey Rd to Jerningham St, up Jerningham St to North Castle St, along North Castle St to Castle St, then back down to the Castle Tavern. Anyone who lives on Castletown but not on the Quadrant is blatantly queueing for a place....

I'll go anywhere as long as they do Pork baps and apple sauce.
Is that generally, or specifically on Bonfire Night?
It's much better to give yourself a treat, so that's my Bonfire Night treat.
Don't care for fireworks unless they're Shugborough Style.

As BBC put, they weren't the best by any stretch of the imagination. The reason we enjoyed them is that the bar was right next to where we were stood, and it's a 5 min stumble from our homes!
