First Footing

Just wondering what other people are planning to do on New Year's Eve.
Also like to hear if there's any events being organised.

First footing is a tradition in our family as we are all from up north......I've even got (the Stokie) husband trained to do it now, last year I shoved him out the backdoor, & he came in the frontdoor with a pencil - the nearest thing to a piece of coal that we had!
But that's as exciting as its going to get this year

Doing zilch. It's my 50th birthday and i'm allowed to be as grumpy as I want on my day. I shall probably go to bed early, cos i'm boring like that.

Nothing really. Same boring stuff different night.

Had my family over for christmas - so having the other halfs lot over for new year -
(I hope to be awarded hostess of the year after all this!)

I intend to drink lots, play silly games and thoroughly embarrass myself!

I no doubt will be grilled by the mother in law to when I will be producing grandchildren.... oh the joy!

Reminds me of Father Ted when he upset the Chinese community of Craggy Island and he invited them back to the house and find it had been decorated with Nazi flags and pictures!

So, we are trying to find things for our first footing.....putting some money on the Gas card (instead of coal), some pennies (money). some Kipling chocolate cake bars (instead of Christmas cake style stuff) & some salt (prosperity in Chinese culture I believe)..... what a mish mash.....going to shove the husband out of the backdoor just before midnight.......bets are being taken as to if I let him in the front door!
