Hey there,
anyone had a bathroom fitted recently? We're toying with getting ours done but it really depends on price!
I'm just wondering if I could have some kind of ballpark figure of how much fitting a bathroom would cost?
I'm interested solely in how much to remove old stuff, fit new stuff (supplied) and decorate (tiles supplied).

Cheers m'dears

I'm a bit busy today but when I get back I'll pull out some old quotes for you. If your not wanting to change the layout much or put in a shower cubicle the biggest job is tiling.

As Rikki says, tiling is one of the biggest costs.
Just done a refurb of a bungalow bathroom, replaced bath with shower, relocated wc and basin so some 110 drain and waste alterations, concealed pipework, full floor and part wall tiling. Labour was just over £3000.00 .
Hope this of some use.

Could you give me a bit more info on what changes you want to make please zeb. Such as

do you want to tile the Walls floor to ceiling or just half way in some places?

What sized tiles are you thinking of having?

What type of shower do you want?

What do you want on the floor?

Are you thinking of having any vanity units?

I can remember the size and layout of your bathroom so should be able to give you a fairly close figure once I know those things

Also if your looking for bathroom Suites try www.cliftontradebathrooms.com

I've had some leaflets from them in the post and they appear to have good prices, can't say I've checked the site out myself so I could have been deceived.

1 & 2: all tiled with large tiles unless a cheaper option can be explored :D

3: shower same as current if we can find a similar bath.

4: tiles/similar, defo no carpet, lol!

5: probably keep what we already have.

Cheers. And thanks to Catabic too, very helpful (+1)

Larger tiles are generally quicker and easier to fit and grout so would keep installation costs down. As far as what areas to tile it's personal preference really, just remember if an areas tiled now that you don't want tiled it will need plastering which will mean more time and expense. If it's not tiled and you want it to be it's not much more work just the cost of the tiles really. Floor can be tiled but may need boarding over first and then flexible adhesives and grout will be needed which are more expensive than normal, a decent waterproof laminate may work out cheaper or one of the new soft flooring options ( not sure what there calls but a bit like thick lyno but supplied in planks that stick together ). The shower wouldn't be a problem to replace with something similar and corner baths are easily available. A normal sized bathroom like yours shouldn't take any longer than a week really, I've pm'd you with approximate price.
