Had some bostin' sausages last night from here

Picked them up at the week-end whilst away up The Lakes. Along with red wine and onion gravy and mash. Lovely grub.

Tonight I have mostly been eating chicken thighs, de-boned but stuffed with haggis, and then wrapped in bacon (what a surprise!). Served with a large flat cap mushroom, filled with garlic cream cheese and topped with mexican cheddar. This was served with chips and smokey chilli beans.

Nom fookin nyom!

Chicken thigh meat is muchly underrated, I get the boned out ones off the chicken guy on the market. Great in curries, casseroles etc. Much more flavour than breast meat IMO. cheaper too, winner.

TBH getting the bones out was a pain, I'd prefer to buy them ready done but then they always take the skin off :(

Agreed though, thigh meat is good and cheap. Lidl usually sell it for about £2.50/Kg, can't complain.

Funny thing was earlier on I couldn't be bothered to eat! Then about 10pm realised the mushrooms probably should be used, tried to decide if I fancied eating them and it kind of snowballed from there :D

Home made pork schnitzels with button mushrooms in creamy garlic sauce and sauteed potatoes cooked by candle light due to power cuts on Saturday. Can only cook one schnitzel at a time so due to having no oven, kept them warm on a baking tray by the fire whilst cooking continued.

Tonight I shall mostly be eating:

10oz sirloin (rare)
6oz bacon steak in an applewood smoked glaze
Chicken thigh stuffed with haggis wrapped in bacon (yup, I'm still eating those!)
Small lamb rib cutlet
Diced potatoes with garlic, onion and a little cheese
Baked portabella mushrooms topped with garlic cream cheese and some grated cheese

I am now debating (due to stuff in the fridge that needs using) making a whisky cream sauce with mushrooms to go with this, I also have beans or tomatoes in case I decide not to. Anyone seeing me tomorrow expect me to be fat and slow moving :D

What prompted this was remembering the bottom drawer of my freezer contained BBQ food that had not been eaten from last year. All seems fine so I'm gonna work my way through it :munch:

Wow a reet feast! Tonight I have had Chinese Ma Po Tofu with Fried Rice - Hot and Tasty, plus numerous Tsing Tao beers. What prompted this was boredom but I feel better now. Enjoy (to coin a phrase)

Lamb was too rare, bah! I also didn't burn off the whisky sauce (never done this on electric before!) so it tasted a bit off but otherwise was great :D

Was at The Porter and Sorter, just by East Croydon Station last night and had the pleasure of a Falafel Burger!! Never had one before, tasted very nice. If you're ever in the vicinity check it out, beer was Marstons EPA which I believe will be available at The Crown, Hyde Lea very soon, or even could be right now.
