For those who have met my Greyhound, Sandy

It is with huge regret that I have to announce that she passed away peacefully, albeit very untimely, on Tuesday morning this week aged 8. Unfortunately she had sudden partial heart failure and we elected to have her put to sleep at around 0330 hours as she was deteriorating.

She was so loved and shall be missed dearly. She was an extremely happy dog and I'm glad that we could give her a retirement home for a few short years.

Sleep well, Sandbags.

Sorry to hear of your loss :(

We also have a greyhound who's 9...and he's not in the best shape at the minute either.

Thanks for the kind messages.

Wildwood - what's wrong with your greyhound? They do seem very prone to not being well :(

Sorry for your loss buddy. We become so attached to our animals and don't realise just how close until they're gone. Our eldest dog is now coming up 8 years, and although she's fighting fit & acts much younger I still remind myself that she's actually getting older and won't be here forever.
It cripples me just thinking about it, so I really feel for you dude. Job well done giving her a few happy years of life after her retirement.

So sorry to hear that shoes.

You can, at least, take some comfort in having given her a happy life to the end.

Chin up chap.

She certainly was a happy dog. We're going to get another retired greyhound for sure, lovely dogs.

Its so hard saying goodbye and the house just feels half empty now, but the joy and happiness they bring in life makes it so worthwhile. We're definitely going to get another, as much for Tippy's benefit as our own.

Gutted mate :(

Hows the other one doing without her?

She's understandably down in the dumps, although she's been playing with the inlaws' dogs and that seems to have chirped her up. We'll get get a new mate soon, but probably be after Christmas now.
