DMF issues on the 1litre Ecoboost. Also turbo issues if previous owner(s) haven't let the turbo cool down properly (which no owners ever seem to do).

Ecoboost turbos are water cooled and the waterpump will continue running after engine is switched off if not cool enough. you only have to ensure the engine is at tick over before switching off. Before buying a ecoboost ensure the metal coolant pipes on the turbo are rust free. Most ecoboost issues were on the early focus models.
