Short Description
Join Emil as he teams up with a gang of young sleuths who lead a hair-raising chase across Berlin to catch a dirty rotten thief! A timeless adventure story for all ages, based on the book by Erich Kästner.
The Show
Red Earth Theatre are very well known and respected for creating lovely family shows which put children at the centre of the action and remember that adults need to be entertained too!

Emil and the Detectives is based on a classic children's book written in 1929 that is a favourite of famous authors including Michael Rosen and Michael Morpurgo. It’s a rip-roaring yarn where free-range children are unencumbered by adults.

The scene of the crime is a slow train to Berlin. Young Emil, travelling alone, falls asleep and is robbed of all his money. The chief suspect is the man in the bowler hat, but how to catch the thief? It calls for quick wits, a cool head and some clever detection work and so begins the great adventure. Join Emil as he teams up with a gang of young sleuths who lead a hair-raising chase across Berlin to catch a dirty rotten thief.

A classic adventure story with a timeless energy all of its own, Emil and the Detectives is a fun-filled, action-packed thriller. Get on board for a chase through the bright lights and murky streets of jazz-age Berlin in a production of great ingenuity and charm.

The show includes beautifully creative projections of stage text and graphics which ensure that it’s suitable for everyone, including deaf and hard of hearing audiences.

It's a cracking story.

Also because live and local are sponsored by the Arts Council it means that you can buy a ticket for a fraction of the price of going to the theatre.

A cheap night out....did I mention we have a bar?

I am tempted....

I have cycled back from a wedding do at the Moat House - so, I could get fairly sozzled, too..

You could.

Although cycling on those dark lanes while under the influence is perhaps not the best idea in the world.

Much better to come along with someone else who
A) has a car
B) doesn't want to drink.

But don't dilly dally. Our last live and local event (Ashley Hutchings) sold out and now that it's gone in the Newsletter the phone will start ringing.

Only 20 tickets left for this now.

I don't know how to change the "confirmed attendees" at the top.
