Balancing Lakes

Stafford Borough Council and Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’s Wild About Stafford project are joining forces to create a local group to help enhance Astonfields Balancing Lake Local Nature Reserve.

This Local Nature Reserve is great for bird-watching and has a number of unusual plant species including small area of salt marsh plants, the site is also used by lots of local walkers.

The creation of a Friends of Astonfields Balancing Lake is a great way to help protect, enhance and conservation this fantastic wetland site, we are looking for local people to volunteer and join the newly formed group which would be able to apply for funding to enhance the site for the local community and wildlife and help manage the site for future generations to enjoy.

The groups first meetings for new members is on Thursday 10th April 7pm at Sandon Road Baptist Church Village Hall, Stafford.

If you would like more information please contact Bill Waller at Stafford Borough Council on 01785 619676
