AD CHOICES DOES NOT WORK.

They just come back with a vengeance!

I've read up on it a bit - but don't want to install anything spammy

I don't think you can remove them on internet explorer. Microsoft get £ for them. you can 'upgrade' to outlook+ but its paid for and nobody wants to do that do they.
if you use chrome or firefox use webmail ad blocker. its free.
