Good areas in Stafford - Moving to Stafford; where to live?

Can i just try and clear this up, I have no problems at all with Doxey,as I said earlier I love and would live in all areas of Stafford, i was just making reference to the round table who said santa will not go back to Doxey after being attacked last year (at least i think thats what they said isn't it) I also understand that this type of behaviour by youths is as likley to happen in the nicest areas as the areas deemed not so nice. Sorry if it offended anyone.

i also realise that if someone doesn't like what I have to say they can give me a 'cuffy' point, it's their right, and thus i was wrong to be mardy over it. i'm just a mardy type of guy, sorry!

Yeah not just Doxey.......don't recall anything on this scale happening in my memory in Poxey Doxey. Oh yeah the youth club last week, they smashed a window, all got arrested. South end kids get taken home to their parents........equality, equality, equality.....?

Santa attack was actually 2-3 years ago......if I recall the little shitheads who did it have now been moved out, they resided on the estate at the back of Doxey.

Just looking at Stafford on Wikipedia and it's description of highfileds starts as such "A large council estate with Wolverhampton Road at one end, Newport Road at the other, and bare nastymans inbetween."

Bare Nastymans? This is a saying that I've not come across before, does it just mean what it says?

"bare" means "loads", and "mans" means "chaps/fellows/blokes/etc".. so "bare nastymans" would presumably translate to "lots of idiots"..

kids these days, eh?

i'm looking for a new house (to rent, none of this buying business) so thought this was as good a thread as any to resurrect.. sorry if some of the posts/opinions are outdated!

anyone know what Meadow Way is like? it's off silkmore lane, which makes me think it might have a problem with flooding, given that people were canoeing to co-op earlier this year in that area.. confirm/deny?

Mr DB, do not go down there, very liable to flooding, depending on which bit of Meadow road you go on, The safest bit of it, is right at end of the road nearest to Crimline Bridge

it's meadow way, which is the little road just after meadow road (if you're driving away from queensville).. is that the same, do you know?

actually, silly question - of course it is.. that whole area is a nightmare for flooding, innit? such a shame, cos this house sounds well nice, and is mostly furnished, which would save me a lot of bother..

piss

Oh yes, know it now the new house that have been built? I suppose it would depend on where in that little bit the house is to how much you would bear the brunt of any flooding, I'd be dubious about it though purely for the fact knowing how much it does flood around there

no idea, but i guess it's moot.. like you say, even if meadow way itself never floods, silkmore lane certainly does - so i'd still be setting myself up for "cut off from the rest of the world" misery :gonk:

anyone know if any of the new apartments in stafford are much cop? i want to live somewhere with a modern feel, so although there are bargains to be had on oxford gardens and such, i want something a bit more contemporary.. you know, fitted kitchen, neutral colours, good use of space, etc..
