    I quite like some of the offerings at Wetherspoons. Yeah I know tell me how awful I am. I really like Verso lounge for a drink but the service is woeful so I avoid it.
    i like Shipyard which I get at spoons and the camden helles on sale at The Swan is good.

    @Mudgie. I noticed on another thread that you said you’d had a pint of Pedigree in the Bear and just wondered if it was any good?

    The reason for asking was I met a mate in there last week and the Pedigree was like vinegar so I left most of it and went somewhere else.

    Thought I’d post the query here rather than go off thread elsewhere like this Forum usually does :)

    I had more than a dozen pints in the Bear last year and all were fine but your "Pedigree like vinegar" is since it's changed hands.
    I understand that the former lessee of the Bear has now taken on what was the Floodgate.
    Yes, very wise not to "go off thread elsewhere"!
