Spanish middleman ? I’m not sure. Some quick research beforehand led me to expect a price in the region of £35-40k so I’m guessing they’re just very busy.

Yes - was aware of all the middlemen / cronies taking their cut - makes me homicidally angry.
For now I’m sticking with my stove - £1.5 billion is a little too much to pay just to ease my ‘green’ conscience (actually £35 - £40k is too).

Just heard from forum member Bob’s decorators - they’ll do it for 500 quid cash - after they’ve finished tarmac-ing someone’s driveway.

Latest update

Received an email on xmas eve at 21:20 saying my quote was too high, but that might be normal. They now want lots of information that I could have got in the initial quote if asked, but they didn't. I have 30 days to provide or they cancel my application, but it took 2 months to get 2 quotes to start with, and it's xmas.

Basically the GHG is going as well as brexit.

Just got an email saying they haven't heard from me so I have 7 days before they close my claim, I've pointed out that their last email to me was to confirm receipt of the details they requested. Apparently they also aren't paying the suppliers meaning many have now stopped doing GHG installations completely, it's going about as well as brexit.

Slight update. They replied to my email, saying they can't access my account without further details, even though I replied to theirs. Can't decide now if it's deliberate delaying to hold onto the government money or they really are this incompetent.

It's all gone really rather well then.
Brexitingly! The gov refuse to say what they paid the US company to 'manage' this scheme, guessing its another mate.

Web chat just told me if my quote expires they need to restart part of the process, who the hell gives quotes valid for 4 months plus?

Just had a letter essentially asking me to apply for a heat pump system.
Heat pumps seem to be the only thing getting vouchers! Interesting that you got a letter, was it from an 'official' place or general salesmen type thing? They seem to be quickest to fit vs the money charged, I think they're the latest cash cow for certain groups that target government grants but they be wrong.

It's from SCC but with a load of corporate logos on too/
That's interesting, a council trying to spend!
If a heat pump is for you it's a no brainer, but depends on personal cost. You get 5k towards it normally with a 1/3 contribution expected, or 10k and no contribution if on certain benefits. I believe they work quite differently though, better for underfloor and constant temps than short bursts.

Not sure how well it would work in an 18th century cottage in a conservation area either. We are nowhere near up to modern building regs and nor can we be.

General chatter online lately is that a large number of installers are now cancelling quotes and refusing to do the work even if a voucher is finally issued, as they are not getting paid. One I've talked to managed to get out just owed a few tens of thousands but he knows a small firm now facing bankruptcy because they've installed over 300k worth of heat pumps but the gov has paid them for less than 10% of jobs done. Only the larger players who can afford to cover the outlay for a few months seem willing to carry on, most smaller firms seem to have had enough. Apparently the vision they were sold was 2 weeks to authorise a voucher and payment within 5 days, instead it's several months for the voucher (mine is already at 4 and no sign) and paid if you're lucky.

Our governments attempt to help the industry has actually crippled it, it's so bad that I'm really not sure it can just be incompetence. I'd love to know what the mismanagement company were paid.

Looked on the website we were directed to. It was specifically for rural properties but you could only use if it if you didn't have gas or oil heating.

Over 4 months now, no idea what is happening, pretty sure the call centre don't either. They can't tell me anything other than 'it is progressing', no clue where I am in the queue, or if I still need to do anything despite twice telling me there is nothing more I need to do. People who applied 6 weeks later have vouchers, people from 4 weeks before do not. Wrote to our MP, got a reply from her assistant, followed by a letter on very nice house of commons paper telling me nothing and promising to do likewise.
