To be fair the Willow trees grow ridiculously fast and are cut/ pollarded every couple of years as they reach the water line, those hanging branches will have grown back in no time at all.
It would be just as easy to cut the branches on the water side and trim the other to allow shade and protection. I doubt they will grow sufficiently in one summer to give any sort of protection against this glorious four month non-stop summer heatwave.

S'good job I've got me hanky at the ready.

Councils roles have changed

Making money is now a priority

Only supplying legally necessary services is where we are at

This is because Gideon/Dave have slashed our money, once forwarded to local authorities, and thus have redirected venom away from themselves onto the councils

People are not very bright when it gets complicated ie not one single shouty thang

Wherever possible, play areas will be provided on the development site. However, where this is not feasible or there is already existing provision nearby an off site contribution is made. Perfectly sensible and this is common practice across the Country.

Seems to me it's the children that miss out , poor facilities no community what's the point

Its getting boring now. All this talk has been going on three years with numerous consultations. .. ...SBC just get on with it.

I imagine as part of the HLF grant they have to prove a lot in the way of consultation

sadly. I think it will end up losing lots of grass, looking to touristy and full of pavements!

Agreed Mark..lets just hope SBC don't cut down any trees though as SBC love a pointless tree cull exercise lol

Really disappointing to see them chasing money with the downsizing and moving of the aviary. I think this is one of the nicest features of the park and really adds to the historic feel.
