That second one would do the job, but obviously you'd need to fit an alternative connector or hard wire it in. Like you say though it's quite expensive and would turn your current bargain into not so much of one

Bottom bottom left -> little cog icon whatsit 'Sans-serif fonts' -> Style chooser...

Ahh, hadn't spotted that. Serif fonts works and I can see tildes with it but unfortunately I don't seem to be able to have serif & mocha - and the default style is far too bright. Oh well, nothing is perfect

just to confirm as per previous post, the default style uses sans-serif google fonts which fully support all the main unicode characters, including tilde.. the "mocha" style uses exactly the same fonts.. here is what i see on my screen in default (click for big):

default.jpg

and when in mocha mode:

as you can see, both show tildes, so i'm not sure what's going on at your end :hmm:

yeah, in my excitement i forgot about the weird "audio jack" style connector.. i'm not even 100% on what it is - i tried plugging a pair of headphones in, just to see if it matched in shape & size, and it did fit but didn't quite feel "right" (i had to push it in with some force, and it didn't fully click into place)..

all in all, i think it's a dead duck and i'm going to have to buy the other one that (thank grud) you found, @wmrcomputers.. and the seller of the original won't refund my money

Open it as an ebay case mate. He sold you an incomplete item. Eventually PayPal will refund you even if he's refusing to.

to be honest if i demanded he'd probably refund.. it's all been very civil so far, and when i told him of the adapter woes he offered a full refund but wanted the unit back (even though it's useless without the adapter, so of no resale value to him), which i just can't be arsed with.. he says the mixer belonged to his son who died at the hands of a hospital's negligence and so they are clearing out his room, which if true makes me less inclined to press him for the sake of £8 - especially seeing as i was admitted to hospital myself yesterday, when his message came through, so i was feeling somewhat sympathetic to a hospitalisation story!

it is a bit shady imo, given that the unit was described as "Excellent, apart from 1 missing knob on channel 1 fade but this doesn't affect functions", which was clearly misleading and a fib given that he can't possibly have tested it if he didn't have the adapter.. in fact, for all i know the unit doesn't work as so far i haven't been able to use it myself!

but yeah, tl; dr = he's offered to refund it i return it, which i guess is within ebay's T&Cs, but i can't be bothered.. it's worthless metal, so i reckon he should refund me anyway, but if it really did belong to his dead son i don't want to rub salt in the wound by pissing on his feedback for the sake of £8..

although if i suddenly arrive in a bad mood about something that might change lol..

as long as i can get that other KMX one for a decent price, i'll be happy enough..
