Wanted HELP!

Hey all,

I have a bit of a problem... I left my job (causing too much stress) and on my final pay (which was yesterday), they haven't paid me the full amount and I can't get the rest now until SEPTEMBER!!!

So, I have my rent to pay, and if I don't pay it, my Landlord pretty much wants me out.

I need to get £50 by tomorrow (wednesday)... if I do jobs for 5 people on here for £10 each, happy days!

But please guys, have no one else to turn to and I DO NOT want to touch those PayDay Loan things.

If anyone needs ANY jobs doing for a tenner TOMORROW (wednesday) please please please let me know! I'm handy at pretty much anything ...

Thanks all :)

Not sure who you work for Poseidon, but surely if it is the employers error and given you face particular hardship, surely you can approach them and tell them to pay you the money immediately or face losing your home.

Also is there not any kind of emergency loan service you could use via CAB or Job Centre?

Do you not have an interest free overdraft you could use?

Failing all of the above, I don't have any jobs for you to do, but if anyone on the forum can vouch for you then I may be willing to lend you £10 until the end of September if 4 other forumites would all be willing to do the same thing

A friend of mine recently got a crisis loan through the JobCentre...I have no idea whether they do this for anyone or just those on JSA, but worth a try.

The company I workED for is Home Retail Group (Argos & Homebase) - I have told them that but apparently due to "systems" and 'the way everything is done' it's not as simple as that :(

About 4 months ago, I did 20hrs worth of overtime and they only put 8 on my payslip. - Had to wait until the next month to get the remaining 12 hours :/

That would really help me quite a lot, but I haven't got anyone on the forum that could vouch for me :( So I understand if you can't now.

Not going to put me off the Forum though as I love this place :) -

Also, rang the crisis loan people at the JobCentre and apparently you have to be on JSA or Income Support to get a loan which is actually stupid. It's a government 'temporary benefit' which is only open to certain people. Dear me :/

Poseidon......
If you don't mind me asking.....what about the job was causing you stress?

It must have been bad for you to give the job up .....do you have another job lined up?

Call me Jamie :P

And it was just a standard 9-5 job, same things every day, working on customer complaints wasn't the best and yeah I do :)

I work for PC World now which is great because it's not a 9-5 and its not complaints lol

But the bad thing is, I don't get paid until the end of September :( So need to find that £50 for the rent which was due today :/

My parents don't help me, never have, so on my own!

Yeah I do :(
I don't normally get into these situations but that's why I came on here to see what jobs people have, but no one has anything to do lol

My LandLord has said that they want it sorted as soon as possible

Hi Poseidon -
You say your Landlord pretty much wants you out? Have you spoken to them and explained the situation. Do you go through an agent or deal directly with the Landlord?
I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure that even if you don't pay they can't just throw you out - I'm sure they have to go through an eviction notice - which takes months and by which time you would have paid your rent.
It might be worth speaking to the housing options team at the council - they are really helpful. they have a drop in session every morning up to 11.30. just pop into reception and ask to speak to someone. They can help with things like paying a deposit bond or lending money for rent in advance - they will be able to tell you your options and rights.

There can be few landlords who've never been paid a bit late. It's one of the great problems of letting, you know, actually getting the money in..
