Is Spa worth visiting would you say? Ideally I'd try to hit it on a track day so I could go round :D

Spa is well worth visiting for the GP or the 24hrs. Did a trackday there a couple of years ago, and though it was great to drive through Eau Rouge and the other iconic bits the car just felt so slow because it is such a high speed track. It was not a slow car either, btw.

Rostov on Don has just been listed as the most dangerous city in Europe!

Well that's OK as I think we've decided we need some beach during our holiday this year after a tough past 12 months!!! We're looking at flying in to Bilbao in SPain , then trian to Leon, train to A Coruna, then Vigo the down to Porto in Portugal, obviously spending a few days in each place. Most of those, bar Leon are towns with lovely beaches close by so hopefully some sites and some sun will make for a great holiday.

Certainly. I well remember my first view of Eau Rouge from the back of the stands at the exit from La Source, and seeing Porsches climbing up it from the pits. It's something I'll never forget. Whilst I've never driven Eau Rouge like proactive, I have walked it, descending it thank goodness, and it certainly reinforces how steep it is as well as giving you a great view. (I'll have to dig out my photos.) And walking the rest of the circuit is something worth doing if you've got the time. Yeah .... go for it.

The day I did the trackday at Spa, we went there and back in a day, leaving at 3am and returning about the same time the following day. Tiring but inevitable due to other commitments. The best bit about Spa for me was that everywhere has plenty of run-off areas, so when I found that I had overestimated my abilities by about 20mph going into a corner the only damage was to my pride.

The Nurburgring, on the other hand, scared the wotsit out if me because in many places, if you get it wrong the car will be going home on the back of a low loader and you in a private ambulance. That resulted in having less fun because I didn't dare push as hard.

Both places though seem to have their own micro-climate. So the entire country could be bathed in warm sunshine but Spa or the 'Ring could have thick fog or torrential rain.

Last year (I think), you (I think) mentioned in one of the holiday threads (I think) - a UK seaside, possibly in Wales (maybe) with a picture of a lovely cove, that you said had its own climate........of course it might not of been you, & it might not of been in Wales either.........can anyone remember the name?

Many thanks you lovely lot..........

A nice and romantic trip to Venice in March for 3 nights, really looking forward to it. Then in April an 8 night tour of Iran which the OH decided to opt out off as she'll be off to Spain with her girlfriends during the summer. If we do have a main holiday it will probably be in the UK.

I shall be here, as always, going with you all in spirit so post me some nice photos please? Beginning of February marks the 10th Anniversary of when I last had a holiday.

Recently returned from España.

Walked the (relatively) recently renovated Caminito del Rey and it was muy, muy bien -
