I passed under a bridge hosting a pro-independence event at the 'Welsh border' on the A55 on Sunday afternoon.

The cops outnumbered the "activists", unless they were also directly involved?

I got taken to Madeira by the parents 28 years ago aged 17....I loved to peacefulness and lack of "Brits on the piss"...

Anyone know how I can get a digital passport photo done. Do these photo me booths do digital copies? My daughter is a photographer so of needs be I can get her to set her stuff up but for ease is there anything I can just put a few pounds in and then its emailed?

We're in the process of doing our daughter's passport for a renewal and went to the photographer on mill Street. They take the pic as usual and provide you with a printed proof along with a online code that you enter as part of the renewal process through the government website. It's still a tenner but the whole renewal online is so much easier.

They have a program in place that ensures the pic is "correct" in terms of background etc. You can still upload your own pic of you want however they may reject if it doesn't for the requirements.

Thanks. That said a quick search tells me that Photo me booths now offer digital copies so will try that.

When we renewed we took the pictures ourselves with our phone. The system automatically rejected mine, so we simply took another.

I feel the system would reject me based purely on me looking a bit funny.

@Jade-clothing had me up against a wall - to do mine with Ecker's old camera - a selection were taken and the system accepted the second attempt.

This was for a non-blue passport, but the standards are similar.

I renewed mine early to ensure I got a non-blue passport.

Arse. Will I have blue if I renew now or do I have a bit longer?

We haven't left so you should be okay. I don't think it will have EU on the front though.

Thanks for the thought. My wife is swinging by to have a look. In theory that booth should do it.

I'm sure a customer had come in to tell me that she had 'lost' money in it as she had asked it to email her the pictures, but then put the wrong address in...

Good luck in prizing the errant teens out of it in the evening....

There's a digital one upstairs in WHSmith, just in front of the Post Office queue. If I remember correctly, £6.
