This week BA cancelled my June Vegas holiday and I probably won’t get on a plane until a vaccine is developed and proved. So where does that leave us?
When the UK opens we will spending a lot of time in the motorhome, its been sat in a compound for 2 months so the first task will be getting it started.

Just waiting for Ryan Air to refund us, I'm hoping it won't take too long. We also have flights booked with BA for october, will see what happens with those closer to the time

I used to be pretty regular there back then, can't say I ever saw any trouble.
'Twas a bit before my time. Mrs Mikinton used to work in the Barley Mow when I first met her (I was living in London at the time) and she mentioned having to phone the old bill a few times when things kicked off or looked like they were about to. A few years later she was speaking to a policeman who remembered attending. He said they'd always leave it 10 minutes to respond to let things die down naturally.

That looks lovely.

We are camping as usual in Scilly. The barn where we normally charge our gadgets will be closed though so we're currently researching a decent foldable solar panel.

Will you have a car? I use solar on the caravan, its great but unpredictable so only works effectively with a battery. We have no mains, but the sun charges the battery while we're out in the day and we use it at night.

What are you taking? May be cheaper to grab a few portable chargers and just get them all ready before you go?

I have a week booked in Weymouth and a week in Hunstanton. August and September respectively. August will be the first days leave of the year. I am grateful for this, but whilst a lot of people have been furloughed, my work has sky rocketed and haven’t had opportunity for leave. So 2 seperate weeks in my motorhome will be welcomed.

No, tourists aren't allowed to take cars in Scilly. We have 4 chargers so will be taking them then are planning to boost them from the panel - we found a 100W one. We're there for 2 weeks and the OHs tablet and camera batteries will need charging too.

I have a 100w on the caravan, it runs all internal lights and recharges our phones/power packs each night and the leisure battery is nearly always full. The issue will be can you leave it somewhere charging while you're out? They don't tend to work on demand unless you have great weather.

Yes, definitely, we can leave it on the tent, it's a very safe place. Glad to hear they do work well.

I've booked another cottage in Old Hunstanton for the superbikes at Snetterton in August.

Do you have a tips on what to see or places to go?
Hunstanton is very new to me, I lived in Norfolk for a couple of years in the 80s but didn’t venture as far north as Hunstanton.
Cromer is a recommendation though. Lovely place, and also Wells next the sea. Also if you want to see seals and none are at Hunstanton, Blakeney Point is worth a visit.

The child, minime, did some of her S. A. S training in Hunstanton a few years ago, I'm led to believe that there is a large fairground and an excellent waterworld type place nearby...

.... Sorry I can't give any other info, I'm bound by the official secrets act 1989.

Depends on what you are interested in and what is open. Lots of nice little places round the coast. As well as Cromer, Wells and Blakeney there's Brancaster, Burnham Overy, Holme next the Sea & Cley. Wells & Walsingham Light Railway, North Norfolk Railway, Mid Norfolk Railway. Thursford has a working museum of "mechanical organs, Wurlitzer shows, silent movies, old fashioned fairground carousels and static displays of both fairground engines and road engines and all kinds of related memorabilia." Think Fakenham still has a gas works museum. Norfolk Lavender. Sandringham. Houghton Hall. Castle Acre & Castle Rising. Ecotech Discovery Centre at Swaffham ...
