Holidays 2021

We're booked up for Scilly at the end of August. Normally we wouldn't book til January but we booked in November, as soon as the campsite opened its books, as I expect more people will be holidaying in the UK next year.

I've got 7 days of leave to use up by end of March. Always keep 5 as we normally go away with the OH family to the Lakes in early February. Potentially we can do that in March but unlikely.

I think I might be able to go away for my birthday in May, but who knows.

Thinking of our next summers holiday is keeping me going. Its currently a toss up between Uzbekistan and on to Turkey or backpacking around Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia and Albania, which is currently the favourite!

If we have another shitshow of a year we will do the North East of Scotland as we did the North West of Scotland incl Skye this year and had a great time!

I really want to do the 'stans', need to take 3 months off and do the Silk Road at some point.

Expecting my Vietnam trip that wasn't this year will now be my 40th birthday present.

Hubby has got loads of days carried over from last year up until last April , then this years up until April 2021. So needed to book a few off...

Booked a week in March , and a week in April in the holiday cottage in Poole that we have stayed before.
Owner is doing things differently this year , no deposits to be paid and settle up just prior to arrival if the booking is still able to go ahead in these uncertain times. Saves her messing around doing loads of refunds and we won't lose anything if we have to cancel. Got her to let me know as soon as booking calendar was done, and got in early before anyone else :).

Noticed soon after booking those weeks in that their September weeks are now fully booked. (Hubbys fault....his "I'm thinking about it" decision has been made for him, others now got in first on those ones! )

Looks like lots are thinking to wait til later in Summer and going for the UK holidays this year.

Yes, the silk route was agreed with DD as her end of uni long trip for us to do together but in these uncertain times I don't know what to do for the best.

We rebooked last Summers Wales trip twice both times it was cancelled, rebooked for April but I can't see it happening.

Even me, who is a bad traveller & gets homesick even in the UK, is longing for some summer sun, sand between my toes and the seaside....

Nothing planned but hopefully we'll explore more of Scotland in the van!

Saying that I can get a flight from Aberdeen airport to Magaluf for £39 so if I desperately need some sunshine I may well jet off!

@Lucy did you end up going to the place near Loch Ness I recommended?

If you don't mind the drive you're all more than welcome to visit me in Aberdeenshire!!

No, didn't make it. I am thinking Scotland next year, but I'm longing after the place in South Ayrshire we went for 20 odd years.

Booked a place in Scotland for mid-May. If we can't go for whatever reason we'll get our deposit back, and I thought it best to book before the possible rush next week.

Gave up on overseas plans :(

We've done the same for September.

Staying 4 nights at each of:

Pitlochry
Portsoy
Arbroath
East Neuk, Fife
Pentland Hills, South of Edinburgh

Booked flexible cancellation so full refund up to 7 days before. Fingers crossed!
