Can imagine police will now be looking back 35 years or more into missing persons records.

Unless the anthropologist deems it to be older, as in centuries
A human skull (or it might have been two - actually i think it was two) was found in a waster pit during an archaeological excavation at Tipping Street (no, not that one, an earlier one), associated with a 10th C. pottery kiln.

How did I know you'd know?
Looks like it was '78 - they left the old Food Hall building, where Superdrug is now, in that year. I had moved into a flat in Tixall Road in the May, and I'm fairly sure it was open then, I used to walk along the riverside path to it from Fairway bridge.
