Now that the sun has finally appeared for an extended period my thoughts have turned to ice. Having managed to balance an ice tray precariously on a pack of frozen tortelloni today and many icy intervals performing ice cube bag contortion in the freezer I was wondering whether it was worth purchasing an ice maker. With prices starting at £100 I would like to know if anyone would recommend one of these gadgets for making ice cubes in a short amount of time.

We always go for Hoshisaki machines - best quality ice, ice cube tends to last until the end of the drink! Not quite suitable for the domestic market, but some good ones on ebay
