Iceland - Refit or closing down

Walked passed the Iceland next to Argos earlier and it looked liked it was having major work done to it.

Any insiders know what it might be?

On a slightly related note what was Cafe Italia, opposit Sports Direct in that part of time has reopened as a 'hot bap shop'

I'm no insider, but I do know it's just an Iceland refit..

I believe that Iceland is having a refit. There was a note up for a week or two before the shutdown, but there seems to be no information there at present, and I've forgotten how long the note said it was due to take. I vaguely remember the re-opening date being in June, but there's a long way to go before we run out of June.

Seems that although it's a newish building it contains asbestos, which is being removed it will the be slightly updated and given a lick of paint. Also they will cease flogging white goods and are having a till removed. During this re-fit staff can take paid holidays, unpaid leave or work in the nearest branch which i'm informed is Longton, travelling expenses paid......

Good Iceland knowledge Basil (and everyone else) :)

I meant to ask the same question as the OP when I went past and saw it closed last weekend.

Re-opens 25th of June guys.

Can't wait. Never been a fan of farmfoods. Just opened a bag of their frozen burger baps and 5 out of the 12 were smashed to bits! Come back iceland, all is forgiven :)
