iMac G5 Broken Monitor...Workround

There are a few ifs associated with this theme.

On the off chance you may break the internal monitor (in my case by tripping over the cat)
on your iMac G5, you might like to consider the following IF you have an external monitor and there are still viewable areas on your internal monitor:

o Have previously downloaded: MirrorDisplays from: http://www.fabiancanas.com/Projects/MirrorDisplays/

and put it into the dock; that way you have 4 potential areas to activate it from, top, right, bottom and left (IF your internal monitor is not completely ruined).

o Connect your external monitor

To detect displays, press CMD and F1 together (this works on Snow Leopard).

To switch on Display Mirroring, click on MirrorDisplays in the dock and hopefully, you will be under way again.

IF you can not login to your machine because you can not see the log in dialogue, the following worked for me:

o Press: Tab then Return then your Password then Return

I hope you will find this useful if you are ever in this situation and that you are never in this situation.
