Inadvertent features of Stafford.

I went over the Lichfield Road railway bridge today and was reminded just how nice that grassed embankment by the Spittal Brook/Crown is..

That reminded me of the spectacular dandelion verge all along Beaconside from Sandon Road to the Weston Road roundabout earlier this year.

Last year there was a similarly spectacular poppy hedge from the Elster building up to the Common Road junction. I wonder if that will re-occur this year?

Any other accidental features about?

A bit late now but there is a fine carpet of bluebells in the woods surrounding the castle on the motorway side annually.

This looks like it is going to be even more spectacular this year.

The A34 link road central reservation had a very high density of buttercups last year, particulary towards the motorway end.

Yes I agree very beautifull
In the interests of confusion avoidance, it was a bit late then - it's a bit early now.

Not really an inadvertant feature, but hardly worth a thread of its own, I notice that the stone seat just out of view on the left here (for some reason there is a gap in the StreetView coverage just in front of it) has been replaced on top of a sort of raised plinth, similar to what the coppers have by the motorways.

It's always seemed just a little too close to the modern traffic for comfort - and so a point to whoever did it....

Well, the Beaconside Dandelion Verge is bursting into bloom once again and it looks like it will be a bumper year - if somebody doesn't spend our money destroying it first..
