how in grud's name is this iPad only £259.99 delivered?

they are £499 new (this claims to be the model with 4G as well as wifi)! i know it's refurbished, but unless it's completely battered to pieces that hardly warrants nearly half price..

i've been using eBay for nearly 15 years, nearly a thousand transactions in that time, and never a bad one so i consider myself pretty savvy - but i can't for the life of me figure out why this is dodgy.. surely it is??

yes, the seller has a few negative feedbacks, but 48000+ are overwhelmingly positive.. plus the sale is covered by the eBay money back guarantee..

i want to buy my old dears an iPad for christmas.. don't need 4G at all, but this seems like a bargain even if it was just the wifi version!

am i missing something, or shall i just crack on and buy one? :raise:

"Seller refurbished" and not brand new. Essentially seller refurbished can preety much just mean "factory reset" in the case of an iPad. Maybe they won it and don't need it. Maybe they're a retailer that had one traded in and this is all it owes them?
In any case, like you said - eBay & PayPal protection as long as you pay that way so I'd chance it myself.

@arthur would probably benefit from this deal too. Has 4g so you can put a phone sim in and use it on the bus, and as you have an iPhone already it'll be easier than learning android.

it's an ebay business seller - they've knocked out loads at this price, as far as i can tell, so it's not a "one off" bargain.. just seems to be the going rate (there are quite a few on ebay around that price, i've since realised, albeit not 4G models) which i'm pretty surprised at..

"Brown open-box, Charging accessories included".... not proper packaging, could be any old crappy charger.

Hope it is ok. I wouldn't chance it myself.

i had the same concerns as you, but the guy has over 44000 positive feedback, and i painstakingly went through loads of them for ages today and many are for ipads/tablets/phones and the buyers are very happy.. plus there's the aforementioned eBay money back guarantee, so you can't lose - worst case scenario you have the faff of returning it.. i've got loads of spare official apple chargers as well from years of owning iDevices..

if it was only a saving of £50 or something, fair enough, but this is nearly half price! and it's for my parents, who still can't wrap their head around the fact you can pause live TV (seriously) so they will think it's, quide liderally, magic..

it's ordered now, so i'll report back here when/if it arrives..

Are the chargers a high enough rating for iPads?

If they are iPhone chargers it will take bloody years to charge an iPad.

well, it's arrived.. it is boxed (brown box, not original Apple one), not as much as a fingerprint on it (the seller was not exaggerating when he described it as "NEW"), still in the official Apple plastic wrap, with official badged Apple charger.. i haven't set it up yet, as i will have to use my parents' icloud details and i don't want to spoil the surprise, but i've turned it on and updated it to iOS 9.2 (via Apple Configurator that we use at work) and it all seems fine!

can't believe it.. makes my old retina iPad look like a massive brick!
