Or maybe not. But fear not the weather is supposed to pick up this week.
I thought I'd start a thread on what people are looking forward to, doing etc. Personally looking forward to the annual holiday down Cornwall and hope to go to the races at Chester.
I wonder what the 'Big Burh' day on Saturday 6th July will be like. Let's hope we have some nice dry weather and it get's well supported.
Other than that we do the normal summer things ie. BBQ's, walks on the chase/peak District and hope to see some more bands outside at the Swan.

I'm off to Shell Island at the beginning of July, me and a couple of the girls from work.
Is Wales ready for us?..............

I am to Cornwall this year also. Only ever been there once before and that was a long time ago, and in winter - 'rugged' and 'bracing' are words that spring to mind.

As ever, i expect it to be a terrible, terrible mistake.

Church Eaton festival on the 5th and 6th July.
Moved out of there some years ago and still miss it. Love the festival and glad to see it returning to the scarecrow theme, I remember the first year it took place and have enjoyed each year since.

We have just finished our entry, I believe they are to be on display by Sunday.

Very well thanks, although sometimes it feels like I am on holiday! Haven't met too many people yet, but our next door neighbours are lovely, and tell tales of a lady who lived in our house about 15 years ago, whose name is very similar to yours...

Jeremy.

Don't know much about it apart from what I've seen on the website, and got friends arriving that night, so not sure.

Fair enough. We are on High Street, and will have a scarecrow propped up with a couple of bricks...

Another seaside Fish and Chip shop worth a mention is the Mermaid Fish Bar at Barmouth which is just to the right of the railway crossing. Has been a few years since last time we went but by all accounts it is still good

I had sausage and fish in batter last month, I had to queue up for 20 min and then took them to the car park opposite to eat in the van, the last meal I had while on holiday on shell island, Oh how I want to be back there eating them again.
