Its Just Rubbish

Why are there no rubbish bins in the car parks on the chase around/nr Brocton?

I often end up picking up other peoples rubbish near these areas then have to walk all the back into the village before there is a bin to drop it into.

I now the trend is for councils to say they don't supply bins as then people have to take there own rubbish homes.

I have news for them, people DON'T

It is my understanding that they are not put on the Chase as the animals ransack bins.

The animals don't touch the ones in Brocton & yes they do come down off the chase into the village.

Yes you have to watch those pesky conifers

Think i'll start a petition to ban them from the chase

These U.S. ones are supposed to be bear-proof - squirrels, deer and foxes can't be too hard to stop..

I wonder if it just comes in handy to not have to empty them, if there are none there?

Having a bin means having someone to empty it.... council budget cuts..... put those two together and what do you get....

Any tales about animals ransacking bins is pure fantasy surely. As Gram says, not hard to stop that sort of thing.

Theres a lovely lady that lives near Marston road who has a plastic bag and a picker and collects rubbish when she walks her dog!

They have these bins in Port Laoise - solar-powered compactors - don't need emptying very often and look fairly animal-proof.

..not many bears in Port Laoise, though..

There are quite a few folk who seem to wonder Cannock Chase on Mondays picking up other people's litter, out of the goodness of their hearts

Gosh she takes it a step further than me. I don't go out of my way to find litter but when i do find some i use a poo bag.
Down side of that is that by the time i get back to Brocton i have had to use up to 5 in the one walk..
i am sure people must think my Pug has a serious problem

False economy on the councils part as they end up having to pay people to go and collect the rubbish from the roadside and bushes

In Bednall people drive through and throw McDonalds rubbish out of their car windows. Scum.

Every morning there are bits of rubbish.

A few of us take it in turns to pick it up.

Who are these people who can't be bothered to take it home. It makes me very cross I tell you.

One of the benefits of modern cars is that a solo driver can open the passenger window with the mere press of a button and fling the container of something called a MacFlurry out through the resulting aperture.

One of the dis-benefits of having a customised car is that the intended target of this container can stop, get off his bike, pick it up and retain it - knowing full well where the car will be parked in the early hours of the next morning.

I expect that residual MacFlurry is quite difficult to remove from the windows, mirrors and lights - allegedly.
