Jaw Pain When Running

Hello!

Unluckily for me I have the bleep test on Saturday - woop....

So naturally I put off doing anything until a week before (aren't I sensible!)

So I have been jogging daily, as well as squats and situps!

Yes - seriously!

I put down my sweet sweet delicious pint of cider and enormous slice of cake and picked up my running shoes!

(For one week only people!)

But I keep finding after I get back my jaw aches like hell!

I've tried Googling it but as per usual when trying to self diagnose the internet keeps telling me I'm going to die (helpful!)

Do I just need better running shoes? Is it common thing to do with vibration through the feet?

Advice mush appreciated!

TCRL x

Maybe your clenching your teeth when your running ? I do it ALOT without even realising . It was ny dentist who suggested It about my jaw pain . Only now do i realise how ofton i do it

Enjoying a drop of red.
I would have thought posture whilst jogging or maybe a sinus problem were likely to be your best bets but clenching your teeth could certainly do it as well.

I'd go with teeth clenching too. Forced smiling helps release the tension, I spend all my time commuting doing it!

When it happened to me it was put down to running on the wrong surfaces, which didn't help (unless I wanted to do laps of the back garden).

Aww

It's like Lockjaw

But it's not

Do you think you need a Tetanus booster?

Stop calling me booster

It could be teeth clenching, or sinus problems - running puts a fair strain on your breathing, especially in this colder weather, so you could find its that. It is also possible that its just down to the impact of running, it does jar your body a lot.

I get really bad shoulder pain when I run - I've actually had to stop part way round a long run not because my legs had given up, but because my shoulder was hurting so much!

I'd say just try and relax your upper body as much as you can - what shoes are you using out of curiosity?

Thankyou all!

Do you keep stopping and talking to people? Maybe you talk too much?! ;)

Yes I do talk a lot lol - but in the case I don't think its the problem (for once!)

Thankyou - I will smile like a loon when I get home!

I hope your joking? I haven't had any injections since '97!

Some very very old dirty sneaker type things - as I hope to never run again after this weekend I'm being a cheap ass and haven't got any decent sports shoes...

Thankyou all - much appreciated - I know I'm not going to die now!

I will relax, unclench and let you know how it all goes....

Spent all week running and being uber healthy for this fitness course and bleep test!

Got there and it was announced that I had been booked onto the wrong course!

Tah!

All that healthiness for nothing!

So I came home, got in the bath and drank a lot of cider - feeling a bit worse for wear today....

Think your on the wrong thread Mr Marwood?

Difference between being fit and dieting...

And anyway, I was only improving my fitness for a course with one of my volunteering projects!

Now I don't need to do it I will go back to my usual diet of smash, cheese and cider x
