Just Moved To Stafford And Wanting To Buy But Not Sure Where

Hello, sorry this might be a tricky subject but we are a family of 5 and moved to Stafford for work reasons,we are renting at the moment, we have seen a lovely house on Wolverhampton road but school catchment areas are the problem, especially secondary for my eldest in a few years time, I think the catchment would be King Edward VI high school and its not got the best ofsted (3) ,viewed a few on the north side of Stafford but the houses seem really small but the secondary schools around there would be Weston academy and Sir Balfour which are classed as good schools, also not sure on what areas to avoid . Can anyone help .thank you

Instead of using someone else judgement on a school, why not go and visit them yourself. there ar efar more important things than Ofsted and exam results to consider when chosing a school. Plus, if a child is going to achieve they will achieve anywere. Parental support is far more important that Ofsted reports.

Worth contacting the school and arranging a tour, I was impressed with the school following the tour I was taken on.

Blessed Bills is an OK school but they do talk about holy ghosts and stuff

Bill had his head cut off

King Edward VI was about 15

Not sure what school he went to

They also make a massive thing about showing all pupils a film on abortion. Sumat do with contraception I was told when I rang up about it, many many moons ago.
Apparently, it is to be expected if you are Catholic.

Although I cant talk about schools what I would recommend is as far as your commute is concerned visit the area at the time you would normally leave, some areas are gridlocked at rush hour and this might sway your decision. Welcome to Stafford by the way.

I drive through the centre of Stafford at rush hour and it's never gridlocked unless there has been an accident on the motorway. There are only minor queues of traffic.

Hixon would normally be a great choice...... great village pubs... free bus to Weston Road school and St Peter's school - a couple of great properties came up for sale and sold within days...

Good luck, I had 3 people buy my house when I was on the market with them and they all pulled out. I don't think they do enough checks on the people making offers

What a shame for poor @Tinkerbell_83

He/she came on here to ask a question about where to buy in Stafford and as yet has not really been inundated with replies.

One person has suggested they not bother asking anyones opinion but to just find out for themselves. He/she then suggested that buying a bike is the answer to everyones problems even though Tinkerbell said that they are a family of 5 which one would presume means 3 children.

I actually feel sorry for @Tinkerbell_83 , it's no wonder that they havent been back to the forum.
It's hardly been a warm welcome to someones first post.

The last time I gave my opinion on what I considered to be a good school I was shouted down so its not something I would want to repeat in a hurry.

A bit late but welcome to the forum @Tinkerbell_83
