Four of us had tea here last night.
Really good menu of 'proper' winter food, liver & bacon, steak & kidney pudding, bangers & mash etc. As well as the usual pub menu suspects. Good sized portions, nice fire going, decent beer & pretty easy on the wallet too.

Last time i drove by it seemed to have a to let sign outside. Is it now ' under new management '?

On the recommendation of my Brother, who lives in Eccleshall, Myself and a friend gave it a go on Thursday. We spent 3 hours in there! Mate had braised beef in a mushroom and onion gravy with mash and veg, while I had pan fried chicken breast, stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon, in a whisky sauce, with sauteed potatoes and veg. To follow that he had Eton mess and I had apple pie and ice cream. My Brother then joined us and his drinks went on our tab. £47 for 2 mains, 2 deserts and 8 drinks was pretty decent and the quality/quantity of the food was spot on, even if more than you'd get in most places! (Nice big plates!)

There's been a temporary gaffer in for over a year now. He's responsible for the current excellent grub. I understand the pubco are still trying to find a taker for the lease.

Treated my Brother and Sis in Law to a meal here tonight, for Big Bro's birthday. All had different meals and all enjoyed 2 courses. Top notch yet again!
3 mains, 3 desserts, 7 drinks - £58.90 and all gonna sleep well due to being extra stuffed!
