Forum flatwarming sounds a little creepy! Haha. But dress up? Pah! Either full on suit up or just pajamas! >.>
Getting the outfit sorted now - see you there!

please dont use sadpals. I know she is doing her best for the animals but she doesn't have the resources or ability any longer. I really wish someone would stop her from taking any more cats in and begin shutting down the place.

I got one of my two cats from looking on cat chat. I got him from caring animal rescue who were really nice and he was in great shape - still is! I did find it was difficult to get in touch with some of the places but they will ring you back eventually. Cats protection took about a week because the woman who usually answers the phone was on holiday.

good luck in your search. I would recommend at least 8 weeks with mum before taking a kitten away. Longer if possible.

Older cats can be better as you can tell what they are like. Kittens are still developing their personality and you never quite know how they will turn out. we've been lucky that both ours have been lovely boys who love attention and are well behaved - I really wanted a cat you could snuggle with but some cats can be very afraid of human contact. Kittens are more work but also lots of fun!

Perhaps this thread would now suit the new 'wanted' forum?

After a few weekends of dealing with various cat rehoming centres who don't return phone calls, don't have voicemail, have disconnected phone lines or are just plain incompetent, it is becoming increasingly clear that nobody in Stafford and the surrounding area actually wants to re-home cats!

Don't forget a lot of re-homing, by the Cats Protection League, and others relies on volunteer effort. A lot of volunteers have other demands on their time too, so some patience is perhaps needed. I found the CPL actually were very quick to respond.

We got little Kramer from Sadpals, the person that runs it is a a little eccentric to say the least, and possibly shouldn't be doing it anymore, that said wouldnt change my cat for the world even with his behavioural idiosyncrasies. I would suggest getting one from there though as you would be helping the cat and not the person that runs it.

That's the dilemma I've been pondering since I first encountered the eccentricities of SADPALS a couple of weeks ago. Within an hour of telling us we could go around, she had forgotten and asked us to leave her door step.

The issue is would having a cat from there encourage her to then take on yet another cat that would be better off somewhere else? She says she has volunteers in every day to help with the cats (but can never remember when they will be there), I wonder what their motivation is to keep the place open when she clearly can't cope any more.

We had the same problem, she forgot we were coming.

If they are anything like ours don't. He is a little swine at times. We said last night that we should have gone for the adorable athena poster boy of a cat and not the mangey looking one that wanted to bite and claw us. I remebered that again at 4am this morning when he was wailing outside my bedroom door.

But then he would sit on my chest tapping my face and wailing so that I can usher him down stairs to remind him that he has food, its in his bowl. he is a bit slow. I blame sadpals for my sleepless nights as I am sure the elderly woman chuckled as we put him in our cat basket.

My kitty, well I say my, the family cat that adopted US at my parents lets herself in, curls up in my bed and puts her head next to mine and purrs, sleeps like an angel. Had to stop that though as she malts a fair bit and I have a very mild allergy, keeping in mind I'm practically snorting her fur. More sensitive than anything, only ever had the issue with her. o.o

Hi
We have a number of cats / kittens looking for homes. Our closest to you would be the lovely Grace who is in a foster home at Cannock...

Grace is a grey short haired cat whose age is estimated to be somewhere between 4 – 7 years old.
She came into the Branch when she was removed by an Inspector from a house with numerous cats living in poor conditions. Since she has been with us she has had some dental work done, and been vaccinated and is now ready to be rehomed.
She was very shy and timid at first, but with some loving care from her foster carer she has turned into a beautiful, friendly cat who is a loveable lap cat. She would probably be quite happy as an indoor cat, as she is very content to laze around the house all day, but outdoors is fine also. Grace is simply waiting for her forever home to come along. Could that be with you?
If you could offer Grace a home please email rspcasw@aol.com

our other cats and kittens are in a cattery at Sedgely near Wolverhampton and can be seen at

I would love to take her in! But Cannock is very far for us as neither of us drive and I don't really know the area all that well. :/ All the more so, I wouldn't want to bring a cat on public transport especially somewhere I'm not familiar with, I don't want to distress an animal after all!

I understand, from the grapevine, that moves are afoot, and closure is one of the possibilities being considered..

Sad pals is now closing as the lady who ran it is 88 and is now in ill health.

They are desperate for the cats to be re homed.

There is an article in this weeks newsletter.

Is this thread still an "active wanted" one? I know someone who has just had 3 kittens a week or so ago that will no doubt be looking for homes in the near future.
